How can I find help to pay for training and education?

One way you may be able to get help is through an Individual Training Account. To find out more, ask for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Case Manager at one of the Milwaukee Job Centers.

There are different kinds of financial aid for technical & career schools & colleges:

  • GRANTS – a grant is like a gift, and you don’t have to repay it.
  • LOANS – a loan must be repaid, with interest.  There are many different kinds of loans.
  • WORK STUDY – a job you get through your school to help you pay the bills.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS – a gift (like a grant) you get for something like good grades.

AND, there are tax credits that can help you out in paying for school.
