Types • Picking CostAvailable Now Paying For It

What are the different types of child care?

If you need help taking care of your kids, there are a lot of choices:

Relatives or Friends

You will need to make sure the person you pick will be reliable and will do a good job with your kid. (You can't get help paying for it if you choose this.)

Certified Family

A relative or friend or someone else with training takes kids into her or his place and follows state rules.

Provisionally Certified

A relative or friend or someone else without training takes kids into her or his place and follows state rules.

Licensed Family

A person with more training takes kids into her or his place and follows state rules.

Licensed Center

Trained teachers take care of a group of kids in a child care center that follows state rules (this could be at the place where you work)
